MORAN What happens if a drama instructor abandons her students on the eve of Opening Night?
Marmaton Valley High Schools Drama Department explores such a scenario with Just Another High School Play, which runs at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday in the high schools old gymnasium.
An ensemble cast is featured in the play, which follows the story of a drama instructor, so dismayed that none of her students have been showing up for rehearsals, decides to skip town for Mexico.
The students arrive for the premiere unsure of how o respond, until a student assistant director and stage manager find a box of scripts in an attempt to throw something together.
What follows is a number of humorous interpretations of everything from Shakespeare to your prototypical melodrama.
A cast of 20 will present Just Another High School Play under the direction of Halie Luken.
Tickets for the schools 20th annual dessert theater cost $3 for students and $6 for adults.
Dessert will be served at intermission, courtesy of Simply Delicious Catering.
